Ingredients
Scale
24 prepared cupcakes (any flavor such as chocolate, vanilla, or pumpkin spice)
3 cups vanilla buttercream frosting (store-bought or homemade)
1 bag of chocolate chips (for ghost eyes)
Optional: Halloween-themed sprinkles or wrappers
Instructions
Bake or Purchase Cupcakes: Start by baking your favorite cupcake recipe or purchasing pre-made cupcakes from the store. Make sure to let them cool completely before frosting.
Prepare the Frosting: If you’re making homemade frosting, beat 1 cup of unsalted butter with 3–4 cups of powdered sugar, a splash of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until fluffy. If you’re using store-bought frosting, simply soften it by stirring it with a spatula until it’s easy to spread.
Prepare a Piping Bag: Fill a piping bag with the prepared frosting. You can use a round or star tip, depending on the ghost shape you desire.
Pipe Frosting: Start piping the frosting onto each cupcake to create a ghost shape. Begin by making a small mound in the center and then swoop outwards to create the ghost’s body.
Add Eyes: Press chocolate chips into the frosting while it’s still soft to create the ghost’s eyes. The chocolate will contrast beautifully with the white frosting, giving them a spooky yet cute appearance.
Optional Decoration: For an extra festive touch, sprinkle Halloween-themed sprinkles on top of the cupcakes to elevate their appearance and add some color.
Notes
To save time, use store-bought cupcakes and frosting. Experiment with different types for unique flavors.
