  • 2 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 (28-oz.) can crushed tomatoes

  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella

Instructions

  4. Add the ground beef, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the meat is no longer pink, about 8 minutes.
  5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, and basil. Simmer for about 10 minutes, adjusting seasoning as desired.
