Quick and flavorful chicken street tacos made with marinated chicken thighs, topped with fresh cilantro and onion, served in soft corn tortillas.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil (vegetable or olive oil)
  • 8 soft corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup diced white onion
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Lime wedges for serving
  • Salsa verde or hot sauce, to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: Combine lime juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and oil in a bowl. Add chicken thighs and coat well. Cover and marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and place the marinated chicken thighs in the skillet. Cook for 5-6 minutes each side until cooked through and browned.
  3. Slice the Chicken: Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes, then slice into bite-sized strips.
  4. Warm the Tortillas: In another skillet or over a gas flame, warm the corn tortillas until pliable.
  5. Assemble the Tacos: Place sliced chicken on each tortilla, top with diced onion and fresh cilantro. Add lime juice and optional salsa verde or hot sauce.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately while fresh and warm.

Notes
