Halloween Crack Recipe

A delightfully sweet and salty treat combining saltine crackers, caramel, chocolate, and festive candy toppings, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sleeve of saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup candy corn
  • ¼ cup candy eyeballs
  • ½ cup Reese’s Pieces
  • Halloween-themed sprinkles (as desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a 9×13-inch rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  3. Lay the saltines in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring continuously until boiling.
  5. Let it boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly to create a smooth caramel.
  6. Pour the caramel over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  7. Bake for 5 minutes to allow the caramel to bubble.
  8. Remove and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot caramel, letting them soften for 2–3 minutes.
  9. Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the caramel.
  10. Add candy corn, candy eyeballs, Reese’s Pieces, and sprinkles, pressing them down slightly.
  11. Transfer to the fridge or freezer for 30–60 minutes until set.
  12. Once firm, break into shards or squares and enjoy.

Notes

Feel free to customize your toppings with your favorite candies or nuts. For an extra flavor boost, sprinkle sea salt on top before it sets.
