Meatball and Mashed Potato Bake

A comforting bake featuring succulent meatballs layered under creamy mashed potatoes and topped with gooey cheese.

  • 1 lb ground beef or meatballs
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using ground beef, form it into meatballs and cook until browned; if using pre-cooked meatballs, heat them in a skillet.
  3. In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, milk, butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  4. Layer the cooked meatballs at the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Spread the creamy mashed potatoes evenly over the meatballs.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously on top of the mashed potatoes.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Use frozen pre-cooked meatballs for a quicker meal. You can prepare the dish ahead and bake just before serving.
