  • Fresh herbs (mint or basil) for garnish
  • Toasted nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pistachios) for crunch
  • Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg (for spiced whipped ricotta)
  • Cracked black pepper and balsamic glaze (for savory variation)
  • Splash of milk (to add to ricotta for extra creaminess)
  • Pinch of salt (to add to ricotta)

Instructions

  1. Toast the slices of rustic sourdough or whole grain bread until golden and crisp on the edges.
  2. In a bowl, whip the ricotta cheese with a fork or hand mixer until light and fluffy. Add a splash of milk and a pinch of salt for creaminess.
  3. Wash and dry the blueberries. Toss with lemon zest or a drizzle of honey if desired.
  4. Spread whipped ricotta on each slice of toast and top with blueberries. Drizzle with honey or maple syrup.
